Something Simple

There has not been much going on here lately. I haven't had the energy to do much beyond the basics in the past month. I spent an afternoon putting together 8.5"x11" sized pattern pieces for a sewing pattern to make scrubs pants for my daughter. I cut out the pieces for a doll sofa from one of those kits where the pieces come pre-cut; you just have to finish cutting them free, and then glue them together. Hopefully I will have that set up soon. It shouldn't be too hard, now that all the pieces are loose. But just so you know that I'm still here, I'm putting up a very basic picture that I took to mark having 100 followers on my Instagram account. I decided to group together just about every different type of doll that I own into the photo, and I'm glad that I did. I discovered at least one new Instagrammer who collects Madeline dolls for example. I'll probably find more people outside of the Barbie/Monster High/Ever After High groove that I've been in. Some of these dolls you have seen. Some haven't been on my blog at all before today, but you'll see them eventually!

    1. You do indeed! Since she is one of the more popular Tonner sculpts, I chose her to represent my 16" dolls.

  2. If I knew you liked Calico Critters, I would have made more of an effort to post about the sets I got last year.
I had a picture of that Kripplebush kid outfit in my scrapbook wishlist of dolls, years ago. It's beautiful.

    1. I do like Calico Critters very much. The Dancer has the big collection, given to her when she was young. I've picked up a few things on sale for myself; I would like to add more.

The thing I love most about the Kripplebush Kids dolls is their outfits. You'll see my whole collection eventually. Makes sense that you would like this one.

  3. A lovely group! I really should try to find some of the beautiful J-Dolls, I've been wanting some for years, ever since the beginning of their production. Looking forward to seeing more of the dolls in your photo!

    1. Thank you! I do wish more people were bloggers as well as on Instagram, but it's nice to know more people who collect what you do.

  5. Congratulations! I don't have Instagram or any social media but know that I am there with you in spirit.

I love seeing your dolls. Your Black Ann Estelle is so pretty. Who is the doll in the front row on the right with red hair? She is pretty also.

    1. Thank you! The red-haired doll is a Kripplebush Kid, by Robert Tonner from way, way, way back in the day. Named after Kripplebush, NY, I think.

  6. Congrats on 100 followers! Great that you found someone else who collects Madeline dolls. I love the photo, it's very intersting to see the heigth difference in dolls, because it's not something you realize in individual photos.

The assembling the pattern for the scrubs and cutting pieces for your doll furniture sounds like doing something to me. I feel like everybody is in low activity mode. I'm also not getting as much done as I would love to, but I'm not going to be too hard on myself.

Hope you're having a lovely weekend.

    1. Gracias! It is interesting to see different dolls together; one's perception of them can easily change. I guess with the scrubs and the sofa, it doesn't feel like a lot because I have nothing to show for it currently. And the scrubs patterns are still on the dining room table; now that I have put them together I need to see if the pieces need any adjustments before I cut them out.
