Is This Thing On?

Once again, I have been visited by the black dog. I haven't felt like doing a lot, but I have made myself do a few things in the direction of putting up another doll post. However, I'm not completely there yet. So here, have a couple of pictures of Lake Erie at sunset.

Both my husband and I love the water, as do my daughters, and my in-laws. I'm sure the sun rises over Lake Erie too, but you couldn't prove it by me. XD

Ohio's mask mandate is being lifted on June 2nd. I'm hoping that will help improve my well-being.

Oh, here's something funny. My husband got two texts from our cell phone provider saying "Welcome to Canada!" while we were at the beach.

  1. Wow, that's beautiful! My sister lives in Vermont, right by the Canadian border, so I need to ask her if she ever got any "Welcome to Canada!" text messages. Hope you get to feeling better soon; being in a funk stinks.

    1. My husband has gotten those Canada text messages a few times when we've been on the lake shore. It's odd, because the actual Canadian border is still miles off to the north. I have some plans to help better my mood, but I don't want to talk about them yet.

  2. Those photos look beautiful. It seems such a good spot for doll pics, with the lake as the background. I don't know about your personal life, but you've been posting quite consistently in here, which to me sounds like getting things done.
Hopefully you'll start feeling better as soon as June starts and the weather turns warmer. Have a nice rest of the week.

    1. It would be a good spot for doll pics, with some work, for sure. I took some there with my Makie doll a few years back.

Yeah, in my personal life, I'm definitely getting "danger signals" that indicate clinical depression. Since I already have mental illness, I maybe stay on top of it more than other people would, because I definitely don't want to spiral out of control. And while I have been putting up some posts, there other things I would like to be working on for doll posts, that I'm not doing. My crafting/photography table is a mess, but at least I've made progress cleaning that off.

The sunshine helps a lot, and we're getting out more. Mr. BTEG and I have gotten into the habit of going down to the beach when we feel blue. Since we're so close to the weekend, I wish you a good weekend!

    1. I hope you're doing better, Xanadu. Do the seasons affect you, seeing that you're almost in winter now? Of course, winter in Australia is very different from winters here in Northeast Ohio. Glad you like the pictures.

    2. Thanks Barb, Yes, winter really depresses me, and it's difficult to find any motivation, so you'll find I'm less active on the blog. We don't get snow, but it's often grey, cold with icy Antarctic winds. I hope you are feeling better too.

  4. Thank you! I love having Lake Erie to go to; there are so many beautiful spots along the coast. Mr. BTEG and I have planned some things to help us, but as I told RM above, I'll talk about it after the fact. Thank you for your well wishes.

  5. Sorry you're not doing well.
I'm not doing well either. I just can't DO anything this year. I don't know why.
I have a basket of stuff right next to me now, to make you a present. But I can't start it.
I hope as summer kicks in, you start to feel better.

  6. Good luck Barb. I battle depression too. It's a problem that runs in our family. I know how bad it can be to feel that black cloud floating over for no reason. You'll pull out of it. You have your husband there to help you, and obviously there are many people on here who care about you.Hopefully the sun and love will help.
