Two Kitchens

About a month ago, I acquired the 1/6th scale Kenmore kitchen, and I got it out to photograph for a theme on Instagram. I want to take more pictures for this blog, but I have some other things that are taking up some of my time at the moment, so I'm just going to put this picture up that I also used on Instagram. The theme was "Kitchen," and I thought it would be cute to include my Little Tikes kitchen, which is small enough to be a toy kitchen for the 1/6 scale little ones. It's kind of special to me because it's exactly the same as the play kitchen that my daughters had when they were little.

  1. How cool, I like this photo very much Barb, the dolls are really well posed ... they look very natural, just like a real mother speaking to her child. Does the larger kitchen include the wall and floor or did you make it?

It also reminded me that I still haven't done a thing about assembling and painting mine ... needed that like a hole in the head. 🤣

    1. No, I put the wall and the floor together. The Kenmore kitchen is four separate pieces, although I tried to set the picture up so it looked solid. I'm glad that you like the pose! It looks natural, but it also gave the mom a place to lean, so that she can stand up! :)

I think I want to paint this kitchen, but I have another, cheaper version to work on too. I want Mr. BTEG to work on a few wooden roomboxes for me once it is warm enough for him to work in the garage.

    2. I had something similar in mind for mine, and already have the same colour walls as yours done. So what colour do you think you will choose for the cheaper version? Isn't it the pits when you have so many ideas and either not enough time or a place to make them, or to store them once they are done. Do you think we should both add another room or perhaps two to our houses? 🤣

  2. My oldest had that kitchen too. We called it 'the Emma sized kitchen', and all the kids played with it a lot.

    1. My daughters loved our kitchen, although they also got creative in how they played with it. At one point they turned it into a slide. XD

  3. Wow, this is a nice mini kitchen! It looks so realistic with all the details and the dolls in it. Is that a Pyrex bowl on the counter? I luv it!

    1. Thank you! I think that is supposed to be a Pyrex bowl. It came in a Re-Ment set, with a smaller bowl that looks just like it.

  4. I saw your pic on Instagram and it's so cute! The mini Kitchen is adorable and the posing of the dolls makes it look alive. Lately I haven't been very motivated to participate in #monday4dolls, because I either didn't like the theme or I was too busy/tired to arrange a photoshoot for the theme. Maybe I'll participate next week, which I believe the theme is "Flower print"

    1. Thank you! I haven't done too many #monday4dolls posts either because of time and energy, but I already had the kitchen pieces in my craft area, so that made it easy. I think I can manage to do a flower print as well. Hope we both have an entry on Monday!

  5. Thank you so much! That oven mitt that the Kelly doll is wearing, actually came on another Kelly doll, with the rest of the outfit that the doll is wearing. All the props on the counter, except for the clear glass, are all Re-Ment, or a similar brand. They can't be beat for looking authentic.
