2021 Asian Lantern Festival - Cleveland Metroparks Zoo

I still have a couple of short doll show related posts to write up, but until I get everything set for those, here are some pictures of the Asian Lantern Festival this year. If you want to see my pics from 2019, go here.

This beautiful butterfly display was near the front entrance. The colors on the bigger butterflies were constantly changing, and the small butterflies' wings were moving.

There was a lot of color changes and movement going on this year.

That was at the entrance. After you came in, you could go through this beautiful tunnel of wisteria.

There were some lights shaped like different animals. They were pretty, but I didn't find them as interesting as other displays.

Ju-Ting came along to be my doll model. Since we only went through the zoo in the dark this year, it was hard to get pictures without her being too backlit. Here she is underneath a morning glory lantern.

Here she is in a walkway lit up on each side by red and white lanterns. The breeze was blowing her hair in the first picture, and I like the effect.

This year there were moving light effects on the ground.

And this peacock display was magnificent.

It was another enjoyable trip!

    1. Isn't it? I liked this better than the tunnel that they had in 2019.

  2. It looks so beautiful! The butterflies and the peacock displays are my favorites. Your photos of Ju-Ting came out lovely, specially the second one, but taking pics at night can be very tricky.
I'm glad to see that you had such a fun time at the festival. Have a lovely weekend ahead!

    1. There were more smaller size butterfly lanterns around, but that first picture was just stunning in real life, especially with the colors moving. I tried to get a picture of Ju-Ting in front of another display, but she was so backlit that you couldn't see her. Enjoy your weekend.

  3. What a wonderful sight to behold Barb, the butterflies are beautiful! I also thought your photos of Ju-Ting were lovely, you did well to capture them the way you did. It's been a long time since I saw a light show and certainly not one as pretty as this. You must have had a ball!
    Big hugs,

    1. I'm glad that you like the doll pictures. I try to take them along on every trip I can. The friend that we went with teased me when I got Ju-Ting out of my purse - "Oh, you didn't pay for her!" We definitely had a good time, and it was good exercise too.

    2. It's always amazed me that exercise doesn't register as much when you have great company and are having fun. :)

    3. That is absolutely true, but man, did my feet hurt at the end of the night!
