More Scrapbook Paper

Even though I've been spending the huge majority of my time at home lately, I haven't felt in the mood to do a lot of doll photography, craft work, or sewing. I have cleaned up my craft area a little, but the creative item that I've wanted to work on the most is a human-sized afghan that I'm knitting.

I did hit Tuesday Morning a couple of times recently, and got the yarn for the afghan, a few crafty things, a few doll things, and a few pads of scrapbook paper. This pad will be great to provide backgrounds for holiday themed photo shoots.
This one has some wood floor and log cabin images that might work out for doll room settings. There are also a couple of pieces, like the bike leaning against the wall, that might make a good backdrop for photos.
I couldn't resist the fairy tale one, even though I already have a fairy-tale themed scrapbook pad with different images. If I get into a good sewing groove this summer, I may be able to make some nice fairy tale outfits for my Ever After High dolls, and take some "artsy" pictures.
Are any of you working on any doll projects whilst staying at home?

  1. What nice finds! We had an AC Moore that was going out of business. I wanted to make my way there but alas I was not able to make it.

I would like to spend this time taking photos of each of my dolls are recording her value. TV is a great distraction though (laugh).

    1. We had an AC Moore here too, but I never got over there once the going out of business sale started.

None of my dolls have any serious value, but I enjoy setting up scenes and photos. Fortunately for me, I don't really like TV, although there is YouTube. At least I get doll inspiration there sometimes.

  2. Hi Barb,
Looks like a great score! Like the rustic sheets especially. Taking photos is something I should be doing too, but just haven't felt much like it. I did give my Liz Frost dolls some attention today, but never got round to using the camera, at least they all look clean with nicely brushed hair. :)
    Big hugs,
    X

  3. It's always a good idea to keep our dolls well cared for, so they'll be ready when we get our inspiration to get out the camera! What I need to do at the moment is find someplace to store all of my backdrops and floors.

    1. I have the same problem, at present all my walls are leaning up against the table in the doll room, which is making it hard to move around in there now . . . I NEED A BIGGER HOUSE!!! :)

    2. Mr. BTEG moved his two 3D printers downstairs to his office, leaving a gaping space in our shared hobby room. I am tempted to take it over. Maybe I will only do it temporarily, to give me more room to move things around. :)

  4. Love the scrapbook paper! I keep meaning to start collecting/making stuff for back drops and floors but I always forget about it.

    1. I love collecting scrapbook paper. I like to think it inspires me to create scenes. On the plus side, every craft store here has an abundance of scrapbooking supplies. Is scrapbooking as big of a thing in Australia as it is here? There are so many women completely addicted to it here.

    2. About fifteen years ago there were suddenly dedicated scrapbook shops everywhere here, but I think they're all gone now. But it must still be fairly popular because all the two dollar shops have scrapbooking stuff in their craft sections.

  5. I'm at the same place where I have dolls that need clothes. I have several other things I can blog about before I share those dolls, though. I'll show pictures of my afghan when I finish it, although it will take me awhile. I only have six rows done!

  6. Hi Barb! I always forget that Tuesday Morning is the name of a store and I read your sentence as if you were refering to the day of the week.

I love the scrapbook paper you got, specially the rustic one. The fairy one would be my least favourite, but I think it will match your EAH dolls.

Unfortunately, I'm not working in any project, since most of my craft stuff is still in the old house and we're on quarantine. I'm also quite busy with college, so even if I had it I don't think I would have found time.

Hope you get more inspired as days go by. Take care.

  7. Yeah, the store is named Tuesday Morning because that's when they used to have new stock in. I'm not sure if that is still the same now. Maybe I should say "the store Tuesday Morning."

There are so many usable sheets in that rustic pack! There are only a few designs in there that I can't see myself using for building or a picture backdrop.

If my craft items were in another location, I can see myself going to get them. :) We're still allowed to leave our homes to get to places like the grocery store, so who would know where I was going? ;)
