Happy Independence Day

I had this nice backyard picnic diorama set up, and then my ring light didn't work. After only one other use. So these pictures aren't great, but I put so much effort into this, and got help from Mr. BTEG, that I decided to pick the best of the group and put them up anyway.

  1. Happy 4th of July! That's unfortunate that your ring light stopped working. It always happens at the most inconvenient times, right? I hope you can get it fixed or get a replacement. Despite that, I think that your photos turned out lovely. I love the cookout scene. I've been wanting to get some artificial turf for dioramas for a while now, but I never seem to take the time to go to the DIY and gardening store.

    1. Yes, it was an inconvenient time, but it was also frustrating because I've barely used it. Mr. BTEG thinks he might be able to fix it; otherwise it goes back and I guess I'll have to get a new one. I'm glad that you like the pictures. Taking pictures of a diorama that big was definitely a learning experience, so that was a plus. Your pergola is nice for outdoor dioramas, but I suppose turf would be nice for something different.

  2. Great photos. Light looks like sun in late afternoon hours.i love all the small accessories on the photos. Happy Independence Day! In our country we have independence day on 11th November, but it is totally different approach here to it's celebration.

    1. I'm glad that you like the pictures, and the lighting. This is one of the first pictures in a very long while where I have tried to put in so much detail. How does Poland celebrate its Independence Day? Here during the summer, people will take any excuse to have barbecues and picnics, but we also have parades, fireworks, and fairs or carnivals.

    2. We have independence day at November. We celebrate 11th November 1918, it was end of WW I and the day our country showed up on map of Europe after more than 100 years not being there. November is quite cold here,so those are mostly parades and putting flowers under memorials. We celebrate more on 3rd of May, which is Constitution Day for us.

    3. That's interesting to know! The last Monday in May here is called Memorial Day, which is when we put flowers on graves of veterans, and also have parades. I can imagine it would not be enjoyable to be outdoors much in the cold.

  3. I think they are great. The lighting looks like right before sunset.......just in time for the fireworks. Great job.

    1. Thank you very much, Chris. I love that time waiting for the fireworks as the sun disappears.
