Xanadu is giving away some doll-sized grocery items (in various scales) at her blog. She asked that you post an interesting pic of your dolls on your blog, and link back to her giveaway post. For some reason, I read it as her wanting pictures of tiny dolls, so I killed two birds with one stone. My Cu-Poche girls are enjoying a day at the beach relaxing, with a LORI patio swing that I've been meaning to share. It came with the lemonade pitcher, two glasses of lemonade, the tray, and the "grass" rug for the swing to sit on. Unfortunately, Little Red's big hair made it impossible for her to sit on the swing, so she's lounging on the grass with her lemonade.
This is really made for the mini LORI dolls, and similar dolls like the mini American Girl dolls, but I thought the Cu-Poche girls might look cuter with it. I think they do, except poor Little Red can't sit on it!
I have a huge backlog of new purchases to blog about, so stay tuned! I just finished up a nice new roombox for the photography. It doesn't take up too much space on my worktable, but it's large enough that I can feature a few dolls or items in it at a time. I finished covering the floor last night; I took this photo the day before.
I keep meaning to take a picture for that, but by the time I get time it's night and the light isn't great in our place. I really like that swing.
ReplyDeleteI like the roombox! Hopefully now I've got more space, I can start doing that kind of thing.
I also have problems with getting enough light. I left one panel of the lid on top of the roombox and painted it white, in hopes that I can bounce light off it onto my scene. I hope you can get a picture up for the giveaway.
DeleteI would like to see what kind of roomboxes that you create. This one is fairly neutral, since the dolls will be the focus. It's nice to have a convenient backdrop readily available.
Thank you for entering and promoting the Give Away Barb, I really appreciate all the help I can get to make it as success...your photo is duly noted, your Cupoches are really adorable and I love the little swing.
ReplyDeleteYour roombox is looking great, especially the parquetry floor . . . is that card Barb? I think that's what I need to do, make a basic roombox which I can use for various dolls. I always seem to get carried away with my ideas and never know when to stop. :)
Big hugs,
X
The floor is scrapbook paper. I ended up using four pieces to make a mostly seamless looking floor. It is attached to foamcore with double-sided tape.
DeleteHoping I win something in your giveaway, Xanadu! ;)
Nice photo! I like the corner room you made. One of the projects on my doll bucket list is to make a corner room. How big is yours?
ReplyDeleteMine is 14" x 14" x 14", or about 35cm x 35 cm x 35cm. A new store opened up near us that carries packing boxes smaller than the standard size you see here, and I thought this would be a nice size to make easy backdrops, if I want to show the whole doll.
ReplyDeleteThat's more or less the size that I had in mind. If dolls are 10-12", 14" is a great size for a backdrop.
