Meanwhile, at the Grocery Store, I Saw...

a dollhouse! I guess it's not strictly a dollhouse. It is an attention-getter for a wine brand named Chateau Ste. Michelle, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary. So this charming Chateau was created to highlight the display. Those are average size wine bottles on either side, so you can get an idea of the house size. The doors probably don't open, and there probably aren't even floors on the inside, but wow, did I want to take that thing down and check it out. I have no room for it; I'm not even sure which dolls would suit it, but I want it! :)

P.S. I'm working hard to get the first chapter in my storyline up by Friday!

Update: No luck on the house. The woman in the wine department said it was "made perfectly clear" to them that the house had to go back to the winemaker after the promotion, and that this house was one of only two in the state of Ohio. Yikes! Well, at least I'll never wonder what could have been. :)

  1. If someone I know robbed a liquor store, I would probably call them an idiot. Unless they came back with that. Then I would be a lot more understanding.
If that was near me I would completely be in that shop asking if I could buy it when the promotion was over. . . except forctge part of that that would require talking to actual humans.

    1. I don't mind talking to actual humans as much as I used to, so I might very well ask about that house, if it's around the next time I go in.

  2. I would ask too. Most often they just throw away special decorations once the event is over, so it doesn't hurt to ask what their plans are.

    1. I should have asked; I was already too sure in my own mind that the answer was going to be "No."

  3. I would ask.If the store says they can't give it away because it goes back to the company, talk to the wine company. If you can get hold of a rep you might have it made.I got a brand new, never taken out of carton Christmas 7-Up playhouse from a rep once. It was something they used in Christmas pop displays. The kids played in it for years, until they were all too old.

    1. It's always great to pick up something unexpectedly, especially if it gets a lot of use. I think I'll make a trip to that store tomorrow and see if it's even still there.

  4. That is most spectacular and seems awfully fancy for a liquor display.

    1. I suppose it does, but this grocery store is really big on its wine selection. They even have a wine cooler (tub filled with chilled water) where you can chill your bottle before you take it home.

  5. Wow, I didn't know Chateau Ste. Michelle had POP displays like that! I need to ask our local store why the rep didn't drop one of these off!

    1. I would definitely ask if you know a store that carries it!

  6. I've been wondering if you ended up going back and asking about this.

    1. I did go back, and added my update on the end of this post. Maybe I should have put it in the comments. Anyway, there was no way I was ever getting this house, it would seem. The woman in the wine department said it absolutely had to go back to the wine manufacturer. :(

    2. Oh sorry! Didn't even think of checking in the post!
That's a shame, but probably understandable given how amazing it is and that there are only two!
