I need to get some sort of backdrops for my photos. We'll pretend the girls are sitting along a picturesque river walk, talking about fall classes, fall clothes, and keeping that brat Susie from being elected Homecoming Queen.
Here's what the outfits look like without the overshirt and jacket. Courtney's outfit is tagged for Teen Skipper, while Skipper's outfit is tagged for Barbie. I'm pretty sure this dress wouldn't fit Barbie. I think I'll see if I can find this outfit online.
The Fashion Avenue and Fashion Fever lines were great for clothes; shoes were rather meh. Our girls wear the same style shoe, in colors that match their outfits. The molded seam line is at least a nice touch.
The other type of shoe Teen Skipper usually got in her fashion packs was this one with the flower, again coming in several colors.
In addition to the outfits and purses that you see above, Courtney's outfit also came with matching sunglasses. They're cute in that they resemble vintage Barbie cat's eye frames. They're goofy in that they are a uniform color. Are we supposed to believe Courtney can see out of these?
Does it matter if I wear these at night? Can't see out of them either way. |
I like the shoes here - and the shape of the glasses (although you're right, they needed to have a second colour for the lenses!). I don't know much about the Fashion Avenue outfits, but what I've seen here has me intrigued - something to keep an eye out for! :)
ReplyDeleteI do like the girls' shoes too, I admit. Fans today seem to like the more elaborate shoes, especially the kind that the MH and EAH girls wear, but I am a fan of shoes that a human could comfortably wear. :)
DeleteI always hate it when they make those glasses they couldn't possibly see through! Even as a kid I liked realism.
ReplyDeleteYeah, those glasses seem like a useless accessory. Can't decide whether to just pitch them, or put them aside in case I want to resell the outfit someday.
DeleteThey are so cute Barb!
ReplyDeleteLOL for Courtney's remark on the glasses! The outfits are very cute and summery, the shoes remind me of Tiffany Taylor shoes :-). The blue ones are lovely with the flower. Bringing back Francie would be a great idea, I always liked her a lot!
ReplyDeleteI remember Tiffany Taylor. I loved playing with that doll, but only when I was at the friend's house who owned her.
DeleteIt seems to me Francie would fill the niche they had here: not grown-up (and full-figured!), but old enough to be looked up to by younger girls, and do cool things like drive.
My favorite thing about Teen Skipper is the fact that all of her clothes and shoes fit cousin Francie. All of the High School Musical Mattel fashions fit Francie, Twiggy and Casey, too! As the designer for Mattel's HSM line, I made sure that their clothes fit my favorite vintage doll, Francie.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! It's too bad we haven't seen more of Francie except for vintage reproductions. I personally like the HSM shoes because they fit J-Dolls and Pullips. Lots of clothes sharing!
