More OG Lori products, plus an outfit review. Also a brief appearance by mini Kirsten Larson

Mr. BTEG and I were hanging out together in another part of town, when he mentioned that he wanted to go to Target. What a coincidence, because I wanted to go to Target as well, to look for more OG Lori stuff! I did indeed find some new things, so I have so more pictures for you. There doesn't seem to be much out there about this line yet.

A doll with dark skin, and black hair in a bun, plus a girl with Asian features. And yet another dance outfit, bringing the total up to three dolls in dance outfits, that I have seen. I'm looking forward to seeing what the ballet studio will look like. That green furry skirt, though!
A classic peacoat look here, done in red. Plus a dog to take for walks.
I think both of these dolls have made appearances elsewhere on the internet, but they were in the store, so I took a picture. The neck joint of the doll on the left looks odd. Also, her name is Lori. Brown-eyed blonds, like the one on the right, seem popular with collectors.
This doll was pictured yesterday, but I got a better picture today. I love the ruffled trim on her skirt.
I also got better pictures of the individual outfits, and I have a better feel for why I don't quite like them. The fabric of the animal coat, plus the fur trim, just looks cheap. Also, I don't get the blue purse with this outfit. There's some sort of headband that goes with this outfit, but I don't know what it's supposed to be.
With this outfit, it's not just that the fur trim on the boots is plastic; it's also that the white especially stands out when everything else in the outfit is cream. The trim being plastic just makes it look worse, in my opinion, making it stand out even more. The rest of the outfit has good casual pieces, though.
Everybody seems to love the camper. I like it myself. So I took the time to open the little camper door this time, and take a picture with the light turned on. It is over the kitchen unit, but you could use it for a little bedtime reading, as well, while listening to the music of the crickets and frogs. The light makes the camper look extra cozy. On the down side, the pillows on the bed look thin, and the blankets won't cover a doll well.
Outfit review plus mini Kirsten pictures below the fold.

The pictures of the outfit aren't so great; I was scrambling to try to get the last of the sunlight, but I still had to switch to a small lamp at the end. It's getting dark earlier these days, here in Northeast Ohio. The outfit is called Glam gal! I didn't get any pictures of the whole outfit on my doll; you'll read why. So I'll tell you now that the outfit consists of a long-sleeved denim shirt, a knit floral skirt, pink knee socks, high-tops, pink-rimmed glasses, and a pink purse.

The sleeves of the blouse would not go over my mini Samantha's hands, so here's some pictures of it by itself.  The ruffle down the front of the shirt is unevenly sewn, and the sleeve cuffs are unfinished.
The edges of the collar are not finished either. The collar is just a tube sewed around the neck of the top, with open ends.
Speaking of unfinished, the inside of this blouse is in the same condition, and there's a lot of unraveling going on. I am not impressed with this at all, but you won't get quality for $6.99, so there's that.
The skirt is a nice separate. The knit fabric is soft, and even though the bottom hem does not look good on the inside, it's good enough on the outside. The print is a little large for the size of the doll, but not terrible.
The pink stockings have no heel. They're just pink knit tubes. I didn't want to pull both of Samantha's shoes and her stockings off, so I just took a picture. Judging by how they fit on the plastic mannequin in the packaging, they should reach just below the knee, at least on the OG minis.
Here's Samantha with a high top sneaker on one foot, and her own shoe on the other. Obviously, the sneaker is proportionally huge, but it would probably work if she was wearing both of them. :)
Lastly, here's Samantha wearing the glasses, and the purse over her shoulder. The purse does open, and closes with a bit of Velcro. The purse is made out of a cheap pleather type material. I would have preferred a smaller purse, and perhaps a narrower chain, and a higher quality fabric used. The glasses do fit, technically. The ear pieces don't fit quite right, but when do they ever on dolls?

Lastly, billa from billa's dolls and fashions found an American Girl mini doll at a yard sale in Italy! She definitely looks like Kirsten to me, so I grabbed a few pics of my own mini Kirsten for her. Again, these pictures are awful in regards to the lighting. Maybe I'll retry tomorrow when the light is better. I also have to recharge my camera battery tonight.

Is there a new OG mini doll who has caught your eye?

  1. The Lori dolls are cute, some outfits they are wearing are better than others, but overall they look great. The green furry skirt is odd, but the doll looks lovely :-). That camper is really awesome, especially with the light on! I think that is going to be very popular! It's great that Billa's dolly is identified too.

    1. I think the camper will be very popular, indeed. It's adorable. Someone is currently trying to sell one on eBay for double the retail price! I'm not against people making a profit on an item, but c'mon, they haven't even completely been rolled out to the stores! I hope nobody makes the mistake of buying it.

    1. Will do! Although I really ought to cut back on my doll buying (but then I've said that before, haven't I?). Knowing me, I'm sure it's a "when" and not an "if". ;)

    1. There were no campers when I went to the store today, so it seems other people like them too. :)

  6. I really enjoyed the little peak into the camper:) It looks very cozy with the lights on.

The first and second doll are my favourite. The outfit of the second one looks like some kind of retro style mix to me:)

    1. I agree that was what they were going for with the second doll. To me, though, it looks like a shag rug. :)

I do like the first outfit too. It is a more complex dancer look.
